The Snake in My Bed
In common with many L.A. Rebellion films, Snake touches on such themes as institutionalized racism, colonialism and the plight of women of color. Narrated in the first person by the filmmaker as an epistle to her son, The Snake in My Bed tells Diegu's story as a Nigerian woman in Lagos who is romantically pursed by a German national who has “gone native.” Despite his secretive and duplicitous actions, she eventually agrees to marry him and has his child, only to learn that he is a bigamist with a German wife and child.
My Life As I Live It
In her second film, MY LIFE AS I LIVE IT (1993), Essie Coffey returns to her home in Dodge City where she and the A-Team are running in the shire elections. Inter-cutting between 1993 and 1978, the film presents the fascinating contrasts of a society in transition. Some of the kids we met in the earlier film now have families of their own and are involved in education, art and sports. Others are drifting, trying to cope with alcohol and depression. Most significantly, community programs offer the possibility of dignity and self-determination. In this film, Essie shows us the Community Development Employment Program (CDEP) making a real difference. Although the CDEP has now come under attack from the Federal government, MY LIFE AS I LIVE IT portrays the CDEP as providing meaningful work and services to an impoverished remote community.
Prague, March ’92
Prompted by a seminar given by acclaimed German filmmaker Peter Nestler, Prague, March '92 combines 16mm footage shot over the course of a week in the title city with excerpts from Bohumil Hrabal's essay "The Magic Flute," which considers the 20th anniversary demonstrations in Prague to commemorate the death of Jan Palach, who immolated himself in January 1969 to protest the Soviet invasion.
Stricken
A quirky, short drama about three very different women who only happen to be related.
Na krev
A time-lapse documentary capturing the eighth generation of the Kopecký family of puppeteers through brothers Rosťa and Vítek Novák at a key period in their existence - from 2014, when they acquired their own space called Jatka 78 and first sniffed at more ambitious projects with the new circus company Cirk La Putyka.

Business Trip
Horse Laffs
Another short almost certainly by Burton (without credits and released by another company), featuring some of the Kinex Puppets from the silent shorts. This appears to be the only color short produced, shot in 2 color Cinecolor.
