The Orchard
The Orchard One morning, as kids are stealing apples from an old man’s orchard high above a seaside town, an earthquake hits. No one is hurt, and the townsfolk are non-plussed, but the old man is agitated: he alone is aware of the imminent tsunami and tries to warn the village. Based on a classic Japanese fable, The Orchard was made by one-man band Bob Stenhouse, who had been nominated for an Academy Award the previous decade for pioneer tale The Frog, The Dog and The Devil. Fans of the animator will recognise his lush, luminous hand-drawn style.
Jah Intervention
Jah Intervention Considering the research of the Brazilian Forum of Public Security (2017), Black people in Brazil are still more than half of the population of the country. Between 2005 and 2015 the number of black people murdered increased by 18% and this also made us the majority of homicide victims, accounting for 71% of all registered bodies. 'Jah Intervention' is a symbolic walk to exhaustion. The intervention proposes the preliminary warm-up that precedes a fight of titans in a boxing ring. The intervention consists of the movement of the performer sensing the sudden fall when affected by perforations by bullets of semi-automatic weapons.

Broke Even Dot, Lem and Curry, three hapless working-class chums living in the Bronx, have a penchant for gambling. While riding a rare winning streak, they decide to shift their focus from the New York Yankees to a controversial investment practice known as "viatical settlements" -- purchasing the life insurance policies of terminally ill patients as commodities. Convinced that betting on someone to die has Karmic ramifications, Dot distances himself from his buddies and instead pursues a romance with the free-spirited Leslie. As Dot gambles on something even more complex than viaticals, a subtly vibrant relationship between him and Leslie gracefully unfolds.
