Rainer Werner Fassbinder visited for two weeks the "Theater der Welt" festival in 1981 in Cologne. 30 companies showed in over 100 performances their own visions of a new theater. Framed by Fassbinder's reading of one of the famous essays on theater: Antonin Artaud's "The Theater and its Double". The audience is left to wonder how much of Artaud's radical and beautiful vision is realized in contemporary theater.

At Their Fingertips Nadia Kuznetsova is 28 years old, she lives in Veliky Novgorod, graduated from school and University here, and dreams of going to the sea - and getting her fingers back. Nadia has a rare genetic disease-epidermolysis bullosa, which is called "butterfly syndrome". The patient's skin is injured by any touch. The disease is incurable: as Nadia herself says, "I don't fight it – I live with it." She is fighting for something else - to lead the life of an ordinary person.

Who comes with Nelson To... Video projection that refers to the various ways in which language operates and its learning as a discipline, in order to achieve a functional and docile individual. Working on it a visuality that puts in scene diverse social subjects, a nudist dancer, a deaf mute, popular Latin American uprisings, the testimony of the mother of a drug addict and the practice of obstetric ultrasounds. The visuality worked on in this piece is insistently intervened by voices that mortify the subject on stage, giving reading to corresponding texts a free version of the Chilean writer Diamela Eltit, based on a fragment of the work Kaspar by Peter Handke.
The Film
The Film Three young men head to an isolated country house to shoot a film that they hope will bring them fame. They have no experience, but possess the will to change their lives. They make various attempts, but none seem to work. The team comes to a creative impasse, but the stakes are too high to give up. In hopes of drawing out their talents, they spend more and more time chipping away at each other. Previously hidden character traits come to light further complicating their relationship and the making of the film. Soon it's each man for himself. Just when the experiment seems utterly failed, one of them is discovered dead. It's not clear whether it's accidental, suicide or murder, but a real body in the scene satisfies - this could be the start of The Film.
