The soundtrack was created using an original apparatus called ‘The Octopus’. Voltages from light sensors on the projection screen control an analogue modular synthesizer. Auto-repair Based on a found West German super 8 film, circa the 1970s, this digital trace from the twilight of a more tactile, mechanical era was created using a hand-cranked 8mm projector. Transmitted via this juxtaposition of contemporary and obsolete technology, the mundane events in the film seem more distant in time than the 40 years since they were photographed, inviting reflection on recent tectonic shifts in human technology and culture.

Since the Tsunami hit the northern part of Japan's coast in 2011, more than 20 thousand people lost their lives, and many others are still missing. As time went by the families of the victims abandoned all hope and stopped looking for their loved ones. However, this is the story of two men that are still fully committed to their respective searching activities. Even though their backgrounds are extremely different, both share a strong force of will and firmly wish to keep alive the memories of the ones that went missing. Perseverance is what pushed an ex-convict to look for redemption by helping the victims' families to find the remains of their loved ones, and perseverance is what brought a bus driver to start to dive in order to search for his wife.

Rogue Waves: The Sinking...
Rogue Waves: The Sinking... Throughout history, sailors on the high seas have told stories of giant, solitary waves that came out of nowhere and sank ships. Until recently, these stories were thought to be legends or tall tales. But scientists now know that single waves over 100 feet tall, known as "rogue waves", can arise without warning. These waves are more common than previously thought and pose a grave danger to ships and offshore platforms in their path. This program examines both the science behind rogue waves and current attempts to track them in real time. Also, changes in ship design may give vessels a better chance to survive them.
