Tschss Bio!... For more than four decades, Alfred Biolek had left his mark on German television. Countless hits are connected with his name. In his obituary, Oliver Schwabe shows the most important points in Biolek’s life. From the beginnings in cabaret, through his work as the producer of the TV show “Am laufenden Band” and his way onto the stage. That’s where he was pulled to, and there he had his greatest successes: ‘Bio’s Bahnhof’, ‘Mensch Meier’, ‘Boulevard Bio’, or ‘Alfredissimo’ with millions of viewers in front of their tv screens. His work and his life are put into perspective by Biolek himself over and over again in candid and often touching words.

The Age of Revelation The Age of Revelation tells the tale of a mythic figure who wanders through the world and observes the slowly growing disconnection between humanity, nature, and humanity’s innate spirituality. A sound-film collaboration between SAtheCollective and filmmaker Liao Jiekai as part of an artist commission by the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre, this film features choreography by performance artist Effendy Ibrahim and participation by local performers and dance artists as the cast.

Silex Short experimental AV work, part of ‘Extraction: A Psycho-geological Report’ – a set of short audio-visual pieces incorporating sounds and images sampled from rocks, minerals and soil in South Birmingham. A stunning, spectral soundscape emerges from the films, developed using sonification – mapping the visual material to produce sound – and the sound manipulation method of granular synthesis. Developed during a period of semi-isolation during the 2020 lockdowns, these experiments form part of Michael’s current interest in ‘psychetecture’; a concept used in the 1980s comic Mister X to describe the psychological effects of architecture and urban forms.
