Because They Are in Love

Pikku suorasuu Iris Klewe is brought from her forest cottage by her bank-manager uncle Kaarlo Heinonen to attend school in Helsinki, where his wife and elder children resent the poor foster girl while only the youngest child and the cook show her kindness. Kaarlo’s financial troubles start to threaten Iris’s inheritance.

Me Urpo, an alcoholic former priest, has been in prison for manslaughter. During this time, his partner Meeri has been forced to resort to prostitution. Ulla and Väiski, homeless alcoholics, bring Lauri, who has run away from a children's home, to Urpo and Meeri's care. Has the chance for a new life already been lost?

Kertokaa se hnelle…... Mauno, an orphan boy, moves from the countryside to Tampere to live with his foster parents, Iida and Eero, who support him in his music studies. As an adult, Mauno travels to Helsinki to search for Helena, a Karelian girl he rescued during the war, who is studying violin. At first, the girl does not recognize Mauno, but a joint concert changes the situation.

Tytt ja hattu... Mirja finds her grandmother's old hat in the attic and sets off singing along the road with it on her head. On her journey, she meets composer couple Theodor and Thea Tekonen and gets a ride from hat maker Kosonen and his son Ilmari, who falls in love with Mirja. However, the girl continues her journey alone and, with the help of the circus troupe leader, gets to perform at Linnanmäki, where Ilmari finds her again.

Oksat pois… Kalle leaves with his wife for their honeymoon in Airisto, but instead of a rental car, he mistakenly takes the getaway car stolen by robbers for a diamond heist.

Thtisumua... Pirkko Mannola and Esko Salminen play young pop stars of the same name, who develop a secret romance that is kept hidden from the other musicians in the pop orchestra. Between musical scenes, Pirkko introduces Esko to Ville Salminen, Toivo Kärki, and Reino Helismaa, among others, and gets him a spot in a big pop music show.
