If You Are a Man
Simon Panay’s film takes us into the world of Opio, a boy of 13 who works at a gold mine in Burkina Faso. As you might imagine, it’s a harsh existence, with an oppressively narrow range of options. Even the most basic education costs money, and Opio’s family has precious little of that. The boy decides on a training program for welders, but to earn enough for tuition, he must take his current occupation one step further, moving from peripheral tasks to the dangerous work of going down into the pits.

Robin Hood Gardens
Do Ho Suh's panoramic film is both site-specific and time-specific—a document of Alison and Peter Smithson's modular interiors as they were adapted, decorated, and furnished by residents, as well as a wider meditation about home, memory, and displacement within a physical structure that is about to disappear. Hopper: An American Love...
Countless painters, photographers, filmmakers and musicians have been influenced by Hopper's art – but who was he, and how did a struggling illustrator create such a bounty of notable work? This documentary takes a deep look into his art, his life, and his relationships from his early career as an illustrator; his wife giving up her own promising art career to be his manager; his critical and commercial acclaim; and in his own words—the enigmatic personality behind the brush…
The Call For Freedom
The film draws on the tribulations following the Japanese Occupation and the subsequent stirrings of nationalism that arose. It marked the first time that both Chinese and Malay were portrayed on equal footing in a local production, with dialogue in both languages to depict how racial unity ensured the success of guerilla warfare in that era. The film follows the Malay protagonist, Rashid, in his work as a radio spy signaller for the allied forces in Japanese-occupied Singapore until his arrest by the Kempetai (Japanese military police) and subsequent escape and encounter with the man who betrayed him. - Government of Singapore

Dong in
Dong in (2022) records the architecture of one of the earliest modernist apartment blocks in the South Korean city of Daegu ahead of its scheduled demolition. Through an involved process of painstakingly captured timelapse from which he produced flythroughs, Suh communicates the textures and materiality of the building. Using complex rigging systems, the camera moves from the exterior of the Dong in building to its interior—and back out again—toying with the demarcation between these spaces and suggesting the porosity of the building.
