The Place I Will Have Left was shot around Rio Catatumbo in Venezuela, the area where most lightnings in the world strike down. The film is about the experience and absorption of something non-digestible. I Just Want You To Know
A love letter to my mother, I Just Want You to Know is a semi-autobiographical animation based on my experience dealing with different stages of grief from losing my mother. The film follows a boy’s journey to the crematorium to have his mother cremated; as he writes the letter to his mother, he reminisces about his memories of her. Struggling to make peace with himself, he understands his love for his mother and accepts her departure. Based on true events, the letter in the film is the original words I wrote for and to my mother. Dedicated to my mother, this film encourages the audience to express their emotions to their loved ones. Before you know it, they are gone.
