The Mountains Sing There are two important features of the Zhuang folksongs. One is the improvised antiphonal singing style, and the other is its reliance on "hawfwen", a traditional gathering of singing groups. However, the clan community of pre-modernist was collapsed in the trend of urbanization. The "singing groups" have also gradually turned into "WeChat groups". This film is in honor of this traditional folk art that once popular in Guangxi. Traveling along with songs, the camera has found different faces and gatherings, lingered in the rural areas and urban cities, trying to find the echo of "hawfwen".

Recorded live at the Duchess Theatre, London on December 12th 2016, this is the show that I did in Edinburgh, and then on tour that year, culminating in this performance captured on whatever the modern word is for tape.
