You Missed Sonja Rick Hardin, a mid-30s author of pulp novels, just wants to pick up his girl Sonja at a lonely gas station. But it seems that the cab has already picked her up. At the rest rooms, he witnesses a man battering a woman. Is it Sonja? Rick decides to help, but has to realize, that the victim is not Sonja at all, but a weird woman, who does not want to be helped. And he has to admit, that life sometimes holds strange twists. Unfortunately, this realization seems to come too late.

The Spring ‘Jharia’ is the story of an eighty-five-year-old man, Simon Uraon, the “Water Man” of Jharkhand, who has been working relentlessly on water management and environmental protection in the villages of Jharkhand since he was fourteen.

CHACHAN, A DAY In small-town Pala, a ninety-year-old farmer goes about his retired life. Located in the southern state of Kerala in India along the western ghats, Pala is known for an economy based on the cash crop of rubber, strong presence of the Catholic Church, and for electing the same legislator for a record fifty-four years straight. Though ageing limbs and failing eyesight have slowed him down, Chachan's (grandpa) days are full, as he tends to the household farm and cows, makes visit to the church, and follows daily news and soaps on TV. In conversations with his grandson, a film student who's visiting from Kolkata, Chachan reflects on his long farming life, how the fortunes of men and the rubber crop are intertwined, the oft-repeated patterns in local and national politics, and the essential nature of human beings. In depicting a typical day in Chachan's life, the director experiments with a non-linear, observational style, drawing inspiration from the works of Jonas Mekas.

SONGS OF OUR SOIL Uyyala songs are an agricultural tradition rooted in the political expression of women in Telangana. Through these oral traditions, ‘Songs of our Soil’ traces the histories of their resistance and memories of disillusionment. By looking at women’s participation in major political movements, from the Telangana people’s movement, to the demands of justice from the contemporary Mallana Sagar irrigation project, this film attempts to complicate the relationship between memory, history and cultural production.

The title evokes one of the verses from Tobino's poem.

FRAGMENTS OF A PAST The Film locates the life and work of a woman political activist in her everyday existence, the relationships she lives out at home and in her work and the political affiliations she tries to hold together, even as they are subjected to multiple stresses.
