Mistress Spirit 2 The villa where Uehara repeatedly met his mistress, Naomi, and where Naomi and his wife met tragic deaths. Saeko, a female editor, visits Uehara, who has taken up residence there, to handle his next novel, "Evil Spirit," following the publication of "The Mistress's Ghost." Saeko, who has always admired the author, stays at his villa and begins to take care of his needs. The distraught Uehara is bewildered by Saeko, who wears the same perfume as his deceased wife, but gradually begins to open up to her... But when the two, drawn to each other, desire each other physically, Naomi's vengeful spirit awakens! Naomi will never allow love. Strange phenomena occur one after another, and their minds and bodies are consumed.

Flashbacks "At the beginning and end of each roll of 16mm I shot a small part of the film is exposed to light because of the insertion and removal of the spool of film. Oftentimes images are obscured by light flashes. I saved many of these short segments when filming and living in Chicago. All of these are spliced together creating a visual diary of my time spent there with my wife Susan. The time period was from 1971-1979. Most of the imagery is from our Chicago days with a couple of scenes from San Francisco. Since the images are flashes and this is a look backward, I titled this short Flashbacks." --DA.

Mistress Spirit Novelist Uehara has a wife and children. Uehara and Naomi were having an affair. That summer, the two were meeting secretly at Uehara's villa. He promised to leave his wife. Naomi wished to have a child. For Naomi, it was a fleeting moment of happiness... Then his wife unexpectedly arrived. His wife, who had seen through everything, had come with the intention of breaking them apart. And then the unfortunate accident happened. The struggle between his wife and Naomi escalated. A knife pierced Naomi as she fell. Uehara was distraught by the flowing blood. But his wife restrained him and buried Naomi to cover up everything.

The Age of Beginnings A newly hired daily newspaper writer covering the society beat receives an assignment to cover Tokyo at night by walking and observing it. He gets into the right frame of mind by dressing the part as a vagrant with not a penny to his name. He gets into trouble ending up at the police station slammer overnight. He has no material to write about and, with his assignment unfulfilled, faces a cross editor.
