La Sylphide La Sylphide refers to the Paris Opéra Ballet production choreographed by Pierre Lacotte. This acclaimed performance features Etoiles Aurélie Dupont and Mathieu Ganio and was recorded live at the Palais Garnier in July 2004.

Eneida Eneida, 83 years old, makes a journey into her past, in search of her firstborn daughter, whom she has not seen for over two decades.

Object Lessons The video presents 111 segments of text, single words, and found visual material, still as well as moving images, arranged so as to offer a series of lessons. As an accompaniment to the visual component of the video a composition for piano has been added, emphasizing each constituent segment in a didactic manner.

ONTKOPPELING Ontkoppeling, shows an artificial context in which two characters fail to connect with daily life. A very precise and articulated movement language, shapes this artificial display of reality. The sterile environment articulates the disconnection of recognisable actions and takes the spectator along into an artificial world, drawn from a forgotten past on how to behave as a human being. The two characters take the audience through an altered depiction of reality.

Abdelkrim and the Rif Wa... The Rif War took place in northern Morocco from 1921 to 1926. It began in July 1921 with the defeat of the Spanish army by the Rif tribes led by Abdelkrim, who resisted Spain for several years by leading his people on the path to independence. This struggle ended in May 1926 when the Riff inhabitants were defeated by the combined forces of the Spanish and French armies. The Riff War claimed tens of thousands of lives and devastated the country and its population through bombing and the use of chemical weapons. It cost enormous fortunes, plunged Spain into dictatorship, and enabled the Spaniard Franco to take his first steps and the Frenchman Pétain to consolidate his position as a man of providence. Despite this record, the Rif War served as a model for all those who dreamed of freeing themselves from the colonial yoke in the 20th century.
