Die unheimlichen Frauen
"Since the beginning of history women have also been perpetrators. They have been as courageous and brave as men. They can be equally brutal and criminal and of course just as horny. Nevertheless, to this day, there exists the feminine ideal of "non-aggressiveness – peacefulness – asexuality“ with which women have been surpessed for centuries. This film shows women as soldiers, partisans, watchmen, criminals, as well as child-bearing, drunk, masturbating strong femals but also as circumsized, dismembered victims, who must pay for the fear that women cause within men. Scenes from old and recent documentaries, from trivial films and my own stagend sequences are mounted to a collage of images. These are sup-plemented by a collage of sounds and a montage of quotes and my own texts. It’s also about me about my fears and my fighting to be able to live my own strength." - Birgit Hein
Die Reise von Petersburg...
The idea for the film has its origin in the novel of the same name by Alexander Radischchev, published in 1790 - a literary voice against the oppression of people, which was denigrated as a danger. Tsarin Catherine II first pronounced a death sentence and later sent Radischev into Siberian exile. In the Soviet Union, his criticism of the conditions in Tsarism was considered decisive for the socialist idea.

Das Capitol
Where do people's wishes and dreams come from, and what becomes of them? A question for people in the midst of a period of political upheaval. At the same time, a question for the cinema, a place of wishes and dreams – a question for the "Capitol." The film tells the story of the Capitol cinema in Schwerin from the fall of the GDR to December 1991 and from its opening in 1936 to the present day. Over a period of one and a half years, observations were made of the lives of the people who work in the cinema.
