Olmpicos... Olímpicos tells the stories of Uruguayan athletes preparing to reach the highest sporting contest: the Olympic Games. The film portrays these athletes in their daily sacrifice in order to reach Rio de Janeiro 2016. What is it like to be an Olympian in Uruguay? is the main question that this work asks, which includes essential discussion topics for high performance competition in a country depopulated of resources and interest for the so-called “minor sports”. However, this film goes beyond the anecdote and the local context to discover individual universes and universal stories of the human character.

Horizontal Intimacy Recorded in the chilly, indeterminate locale of airport terminals around the world, Seoungho Cho's surreptitious footage of travelers biding their time captures the ominous quietude unique to that space. The canned announcements and muttering news reports that usually fill this limbo are gradually supplanted by an Alexander Scriabin piano sonata, lending an introspective and melancholic air to the inorganic shades of blue and grey, and the anonymous silhouettes of bored strangers. A floating set of mysterious glowing red orbs seem to stare back, eerily calling to mind the red eye of HAL the super computer from Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968). Perhaps these "eyes" match the artist's role as an outsider looking coolly upon an unfamiliar world, longing for a communion that wil always be disappointed in such a transient realm.

El canto de los dioses Road documentary that delves into the musical and religious expressions of sub-Saharan Africa. Through Mauritania and Mali, the film documents the lives of Dogon, griots, musicians and instrument makers who, through oral accounts, explain why music plays a fundamental role in the socio-religious organization of peoples. The film culminates its search with the recording of the performance of the traditional Dogon mask dance, in Begnematou, a small village lost in the desert.
